Hero’s Journey

Grab your pens and your moral compass because we’re going on an epic journey! With Josh Bayer as our brave leader, we’ll be creating, writing, and illustrating comics featuring our very own heroes, from origin story to the victorious last battle. Who is your hero? An ordinary human? Space Cat? Robot? And where do they come from? Earth? A distant planet? NYC? Are they on a quest? Will they use mind-boggling intelligence or creativity to rise above obstacles? Maybe your hero will have extraordinary powers, like controlling gravity or talking to animals. Or maybe they’ll have a sidekick, and together they’ll face off against an arch-enemy. Anything is possible in this Hero's Journey! Previous comics experience is not required for this workshop, nor are capes or X-ray vision. If this workshop is your true destiny, don’t hesitate to register now! *Please note this workshop meets on Zoom.  This workshop is made possible through a partnership with Ava’s Smile, in honor of Ava Hecht’s legacy of creativity and compassion.
