Girls Rising X Uptown Hub

Girls, it's time! Let your voice be heard! Come write, discuss, and revel in what you love, in what inspires you, and discover how you’re going to change the world.

From politics to body image to #metoo, we’ll be tackling what it means to be an empowered young woman right now. Any and all kinds of writing are welcome - from real-life to poems to fiction - just bring the unique girl you are. A $200 stipend will be given to students who participate in all of the classes.

To participate in this workshop you must:

Be a girl or self-identify as a girl
Be currently in High School (grades 9-12) in NYC
Be able to commit to all 10 sessions on Tuesdays via Zoom from 5pm to 7pm
Be interested in writing and self-expression
Have access to laptop or tablet for Zoom sessions
Participation in Young Girls Rising is not required to take part in this workshop. All who self-identify as girls, women, trans, or gender nonconforming are welcome - just bring the bravest and most honest YOU.

This workshop is being presented in partnership with The Uptown Hub.

*Please note this workshop meets via Zoom. Thank you!
